The Yicky, Icky Doldrums....

Yup, I've got them.  It's a combination of a lot of things though.

It could be because Monster's got mono ( again ) and that's always scary:

He feels ok, thank God,
but the fear factor is elevated.

It could be that I haven't been able to spend any time with her:

My bestest friend, Mary.
We can't take any chances with her immunity either.

Or, it could be because of the:

But, it's also probably because I've been fighting
a stinky kidney infection.  That caused a big time
IBS flair -which makes me feel.... well....
LOUSY.

So, I've spent most of my time dressed in some of these:
Doing a little bit of this:

And lots of this:

Hopefully, both the Monster and I will be feeling better and he'll get to back to this:

and I'll get back to playing on

Lavender Hill !

Hearts and Pinks For Pink Saturday !

Wow, the week has flown by ...
It's been unseasonably warm ( boo !) around here,
but on the upside, I think the ice on the back patio is finally gone !

I finally put some batteries in my new iTouch speaker.  It's from PB Kids ( yes, I know I'm not a kid, but they have such CUTE stuff !) and it's PINK with HEARTS on it !

I'm partial to HEARTS you know... because of my Monster !

I have the speaker on my desk, next to my crazy haired wooden girlies.  Do you pregnant Barbie sneaking a peak ?  That's right, I said pregnant Barbie - she's actually got a baby in her belly that you can "pop out"!  Like a little Mattel C-section....
got her about 25 years ago and they were soon discontinued - wonder why?

But, I digress.....
My iTouch is all ready to plug in.

I'll be blaring everything from Billy Joel and Janis Joplin to Miley Cyrus !

Happy Pink Saturday !

55° in FEBRUARY, in New Jersey !

So, my back yard looks like this:

I know, I know, most people are loving the warm sunshine today.
And I admit, I enjoy it when Lavender Hill has her pretty on:

And I do enjoy reading out here:

And out here:

But, I'm a Winter girl.
I love Winter clothes, cozy fabrics, and COLD, delicious air.

It's February - could I just get ONE more of these ?

Please !!!

Pink Saturday Dreams

I'm a girly girl. You know the type.... I love to sew, crochet, bake and craft.  My favorite colors are LAVENDER and PINK and I like all things frilly.  I always imagined myself with daughters.  But, what's that saying ?   "Man plans - God laughs" !

I X-stitched this when I was a young mother and still had the eyesight to thread a needle !  I have it in my office.
My boys are my dreams come true...

And you know what ?
I did get my pink girly girl when this sweet thing joined us:

Happy PINK SATURDAY !
May all your PINK Dreams come true !

On February 6, 1983

I married my best friend....
It was during a huge blizzard and still everyone showed up to the church on time !

Mo and I started dating when I was 14 and he was 16.  Our first "date" was to see the Disney Classic "Freaky Friday".  The original, starring Jody Foster.  We went with both our mothers and his three sisters.  But, we got to sit together and shared a popcorn.  Half way through the movie he took my hand and the rest, as they say was history.

We dated all through high-school.  He went to an all boys school and I went to an all girls - but, he rode his bike to my house every afternoon after school.  He taught me how to parallel park, helped me with my Algebra and I wrote nearly every book report he ever handed in ( ssssh, don't tell the Brothers !).  When he went to college, I used to help him study for his exams by quizzing him on Nuclear Science and I still wrote all his English papers !  He took me for my first drink on my 18th b'day and a few weeks later, the day I graduated from high school he asked me to marry him.  When I went to college in NYC, he would take the train in every afternoon to meet me and then walk with me to the parking garage and drive me home.  EVERY day - so I wouldn't have to drive home from the city in the dark. He officially proposed when he finished paying for the ring and get this - he did it on the escalator at the mall when he came to meet me for lunch one Saturday when I was working at Bloomies.  Ready........
" Oh, I finished paying for it - here, try it on !"
How's that for romantic ????

Twenty-eight years, some of sad and frightening times and
oh so many, many wonderful ones, later........
We are the Rodsan 6 !

Happy Anniversary, Mo !

February Fluffing

I absolutely LOVE February.
I think it's my most favorite month.
It's usually the coldest and snowiest month for us here in NJ and that is always a plus !!!!
It's also my anniversary month ( 28 years !) and of course
Valentines Day.

Yesterday I put out a few Valentines Day hearts...
just adding to my already cozy Living Room snowmen:

A new flag went out ...
the creases usually get blown out with the wind !
I really need to figure out a new way to store my
 flags other than folded.
They look like this every time I pull out a different one.

The front porch got some LOVE:

Back inside, I put out one of my favorite old pictures:

That's Mo and I on my 18th birthday.
Check out that foil wallpaper in my mother's kitchen !

I changed out the runner on the dining room table:

The LOVE blocks are about 25 years old -
 they're actually candles.

I really like the PB Kids table runners - I have a bunch.

The detail is so sweet - and no, I didn't iron it -
I don't do irons !

I even added some cute pink buckets on the new Hall Tree:

Happy February everyone !
